what is a board & Train?

Chip was recommended to be euthanized for his human aggression, but our 6 week board & train changed life for him & his family.

Our Board & Train program is designed for dogs 7 months and older, whether they need behavior modification, obedience training, or both.

Unlike traditional kennel-based programs, your dog will live in my home, becoming part of my family—not a loud, stressful boarding facility.

They’ll receive one-on-one attention, personalized training, and the same love and care as my own two dogs (which is a lot!).

Every program is custom-tailored to your goals, no matter the breed or behavioral challenges.

This comprehensive, results-driven program spans 4–6+ weeks, allowing time for real, lasting behavior changes—not just a quick-fix boot camp.

Because I only accept one dog at a time, space is extremely limited.

If you’re ready to give your dog the focused training they deserve, apply today!

What Actually Happens During Those 4-6 Weeks:

Your dog doesn't sit in a kennel waiting for their turn. From the moment they arrive, they're living in a real home — with Shanell, her family, and her own dogs — experiencing the kind of daily structure and consistency that makes change actually stick.

Every day is intentional. Training sessions built around your dog's specific triggers, drives, and goals. Socialization with other dogs — not chaotic, unsupervised play, but structured interactions that teach your dog how to actually read and respond to other animals. Field trips into real Tulsa environments — parks, neighborhoods, busy streets — because a dog that only behaves at home isn't really trained.

And throughout all of it, we're preparing your dog for your life specifically. Whether you want off-leash reliability at the lake, calm behavior at a brewery, or simply a dog you can trust around your friends & family — that's what we're building toward. You're never in the dark.

Video updates every few days so you can watch the transformation happen in real time. And if you want to come see your dog — come. Any time. No appointments, no restrictions. We have nothing to hide and everything to show you. When your dog comes home, we're not done.

Follow-up lessons continue at your home for as long as you need them — days, weeks, or months after the program ends. Unlimited. Because the goal isn't a trained dog. It's a confident owner who never needs us again.

Eddie's owner spent 6 years avoiding other dogs because of his aggression. We didn't just fix the behavior. We found the dog underneath it.

Here's What Our 'Damn Good Dog Owners' Are Saying...

Board & Train is built for dogs whose issues go beyond what weekly lessons can fix

  • Chasing of cars, bikes, or their own tails
  • Dog or human reactivity
  • Dog or human aggression
  • Severe anxiety or fear-based behavior
  • Bite history or escalating aggression
  • A dog too overstimulated or shut down to make progress in weekly lessons

OUR PROGRAMS

Obedience & Off-Leash Reliability

REACTIVE DOGS

4 WEEKS & REQUIRED FOLLOW UP LESSONS

This program is designed for dogs who aren't dangerous — they're just completely over threshold and taking you down with them.

  • Explode at other dogs on leash — barking, lunging, spinning — even though they're fine off leash
  • Can't focus outside the house — every smell, sound, or movement hijacks their brain
  • Bolt out the door the second it opens.
  • Only listen when they feel like it—or when there’s a treat in your hand.
  • Have endless energy and struggle to settle down at home.
  • Come when called… sometimes… if there’s nothing better to do.

This isn't aggression — it's a dog who is overwhelmed by the world and has never been taught how to handle it. We change that by addressing the emotional state underneath the chaos, not just the behavior on the surface.

Four weeks later you have a dog who can actually think, focus, and walk beside you like the companion they were always meant to be.

All training equipment included in the cost of the program ($270 value):
-Ecollar
-Prong collar (if needed)
-Tug toy or ball on a rope

Aggression, Anxiety, Severe Issues

BEHAVIOR
MODIFICATION

6+ WEEKS & REQUIRED FOLLOW UP LESSONS

This program is for the dogs that keep you up at night. The ones you love completely and are quietly terrified of losing.

This program is for dogs who:

  • Show aggression—growling, snapping, lunging, or biting people or other dogs.
  • Have extreme anxiety—pacing, destructive behavior, or shutting down in fear.
  • Guard food, toys, or spaces—growling or attacking if someone gets too close.
  • Explode on walks—barking, lunging, or pulling so hard they’re impossible to control.
  • Have already been failed by another trainer — or been told there are no good options left

If you're walking on eggshells in your own home, avoiding situations you should be able to enjoy, or have quietly started wondering if you're out of options — you're not. You're just in the right place now.

We've worked with dogs that other trainers turned away. Dogs whose owners had already been told euthanasia was the only answer. In case after case, we've proven that wrong.

This program doesn't teach obedience commands — because obedience doesn't fix aggression. We focus on changing the emotional state driving the behavior, teaching your dog how to navigate the world without fear, frustration, or reactivity as their default setting. The behavior changes because the dog changes — from the inside out.

Six weeks minimum because real change takes time. A two week bootcamp might quiet the symptoms temporarily. This eliminates them.

WHAT THE FAQ?

YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS, WE'VE GOT ANSWERS.

WHAT AGES DO YOU ACCEPT FOR BOARD & TRAIN?

Dogs must be at least 7 months old to enroll in our Board & Train programs.

But there’s no such thing as “too old” for training!

We’ve worked with dogs of all ages—even 9-year-olds—and they’ve made incredible progress.

Whether your dog is a stubborn adolescent or a grown adult with years of bad habits, they can still learn, improve, and become the well-behaved companion you’ve always wanted.

(We no longer offer puppy training, but have someone to happily refer you to who specializes in puppies if that is what you are looking for.)

VACCINE REQUIREMENTS?

Proof of current vaccinations is required before boarding your dog. Vaccinations must be current for your dogs age.

  • Rabies vaccine

  • Bordetella

  • Distemper (DHLPP)

DO YOU ACCEPT INTACT DOGS FOR BOARD & TRAIN?

Yes! We accept both intact and spayed/neutered dogs in our training programs.

Your dog’s training and behavior are our top priorities, and being intact does not affect their ability to learn.

If you have an intact female that you think may go into heat while they are here, we ask that you send a diaper with them to minimize the mess.

WHAT DO I NEED TO SEND WITH MY DOG FOR TRAINING?

All we need from you is:

  • Enough food for their entire stay.
  • A bed (if they have one and you’d like them to have it).
  • A favorite toy for comfort.

That’s it! We provide everything else—leashes, training tools, and anything needed for their daily routine. Just send them with the essentials, and we’ll take care of the rest!

DO YOU HAVE A GUARANTEE?

Yes! We stand by our training and your dog’s success.

If we feel we cannot achieve the results you’re looking for, we will either continue working for free until we do or provide a refund.

Our goal is real, lasting results—and we’re fully committed to making that happen.

WHAT TRAINING METHODS DO YOU USE?

Our methods are designed to be transparent and customized. We utilize a balanced approach which involves a variety of factors including: reinforcement, consequences, emotions and environment.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY DOG COMES HOME?

Training doesn’t stop when your dog comes home—it transfers to you.

That’s why follow-up lessons are required to ensure you’re confident handling your dog, maintaining their progress, and continuing their training.

We’ll show you exactly what your dog has learned, how to reinforce it, and how to keep building on their success.

This way, you get long-term results—not just a temporary fix.
